From her bio on Saatchi Art: I was born in Yokohama, Japan, a cosmopolitan port city near Tokyo famous for its international flavor. My formal art training began at age eight with oil painting and Japanese calligraphy. Through painting I explored the realms of color and composition, while my calligraphy master instilled discipline and precision in my brush strokes. At the avant-garde Bunka Gakuin Institute of Fine Arts in Tokyo I studied under Masanari Murai, a pioneering Japanese abstract artist who encouraged my artistic freedom.
I strive to create art in which diverse geometric elements are united within a holistic visual universe. In each work my challenge is to achieve a delicate balance, dynamic tension and integration of geometric forms accentuated by evocative colors. My concepts are spontaneous with the compositions emerging in pure, complete form.
